Dominican Cigars

Dominican Republic cigars are highly regarded to be of a quality that is the best and most superior of all cigars throughout the world. Yes, even those of Cubans! The Dominican Republic is prominently known as the “Cigar Country” by most enthusiasts and their cigar products covers a wide array of colours, price tags and aromas which visitors cannot seem to resist. But why is the Dominican cigar considered to be so adverse and superior? What is their secret?
Well since the country has the ideal climate and environment for tobacco growth, Dominicans have viewed this as an asset and has paid careful attention to the management and cultivation of their tobacco crops. This in turn has enabled the country to produce exquisite and distinctive cigars that are of impeccable quality.
Basically their cigar making process takes 2 to 3 years to be completed, after which they finally picked their tobacco leaves- through a six stage procedure (top to bottom of the plant). These stages are as follows: The base of the plant (libra de pie), the section of the plant located above the base (uno y medio), the center of the tobacco plant which comprises of the thinnest leaves (centro ligero), the center of the plant which has mid-sized leaves (centro fino), the center of the plant with the thickest leaves (cebtro gordo), and the crown or top of the plant (corona).
As we can see above, the Dominicans surely are committed to their tobacco industry, and this is evitable through their cigar making process which they have nurtured with care and attention. No wonder the Dominican Republican cigars are of the highest quality worldwide!
